Description

This Bucket Bag pattern is for a classic bag but has convertible straps. You can use it as a shoulder bag, crossbody bag, or backpack.

The exterior is constucted with 4 panels; you can either make all 4 with the same fabric or you can mix and match materials.  It looks great with contrasting or coordinating fabrics.

A drawstring with beautiful hardware is used to cinch the bag and I’ll show you how to prepare the drawstring and the cincher.

The Bucket Bag pattern has 11 pages with pictures to guide you in every step. Most pieces are squares and are cut with quilting rulers. There are 2 pattern pieces included: the base and the zipper overlay.  I also include a svg file for the overlay if you want to cut it with a cricut or silhouette machine.

Features included in the Pattern:

• Exterior zipper pocket with overlay (svg file included)
• Grommets
• Cincher
• Turn bag through zipper opening

Finished Size: 12”W x 11″H x 5″D

After purchase, you’ll receive a link to download the pdf pattern.

Fabric & Interfacing Recommendations

In all my patterns, recommendend interfacing depends on the materials that you choose.

Exterior:
• If you use cotton, interface with SF101 & Decovil Light (Glue on the Decovil Light can be heavy on cotton and it can wrinkle your exterior,  I avoid that by interfacing with SF101 first, then with Decovil Light always keeping the decovil outside seam allowances.
• If using canvas, interface with Decovil Light (I don’t use SF101 with canvas as the fabric is sturdy enough for the decovil light)
• If using Nylon Cordura Fabric, Vinyl, or Cork Fabric do not interface.

Lining:
• If using cotton, interface with SF101
• If using Nylon Cordura Fabric, do not interface.
